The goal of our canine facility at the Animal
Rehabilitation Center is to restore normal function
to dogs with orthopedic or neurological impairments
by improving their physical condition. Our methods
are similar to the human principles of physical
therapy. We provide corrective exercises that repair damage and preventative exercises that provide a strong foundation to protect against injury.
Rehabilitation of injured, post surgical or older
(geriatric) canines can be an alternative to drugs
or surgery. Physical therapy can decrease
inflammation and pain reducing or eliminating the need
for drugs. Strengthening exercises may
stabilize a painful joint eliminating or postponing
the need for surgery. Strengthening can also improve
surgical results.

Have you ever experienced neck or back pain? What
about an arthritic joint? Do you have an old injury
that has created some muscle strains? If you have,
then you can understand what your "best
friend" may be experiencing. If your dog shows
signs of weakness, difficulty walking, not bending
to eat food, problems getting up from lying
down, or any similar physical issue, consult your
veterinarian for a referral.
The focus of the Animal Rehabilitation Center is
to evaluate the dog's problem and provide an
individualized treatment plan. A strong dog is a fit
dog.
